Overview
Major application for Ratnamani's Stainless Steel / Titanium Tubes is in the manufacturing of Shell and Tube type Heat Exchangers.
Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers:Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers are defined as heat exchangers that can transfer heat from one fluid/medium to another fluid/ medium. A Fluid/Medium passes through a set of tubes while another fluid/medium passes through the shell that encloses the tubes. Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers are used in applications in processes involving high temperature and pressure.
There are two types of Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers used in industrial applications :
- U- Tube Heat exchangers
- Straight Tube Heat exchangers
There are several factors, which are to be taken into account while manufacturing Heat Exchanger Tubes i.e. dimensional tolerances for diameter, wall thickness, length, eccentricity, requisite Mechanical properties, Corrosion resistance and surface finish etc.
